Chinhoyi
General Information
Chinhoyi is located 115km north-west of Harare, in Mashonaland West province of Zimbabwe and serves as the administrative centre for a rich tobacco, maize and cattle-farming region.
Chinhoyi's place in history was made on the 28th April 1966, when the Zimbabwean African National Liberation Army (ZANLA) forces and well-armed Rhodesian Security Forces met in a 12 hour clash now known as the Battle of Chinhoyi.

Activities in Chinhoyi
Chinhoyi Caves National Park – is a small but worthwhile national park. It is filled with limestone and dolomite caves, and sinkholes. These natural resources have been used for storage and refuge for nearly 1500 years. This area offers the most spectacular diving in the region. The water comprises a system of limestone caverns and tunnels formed by rainwater over millions of years.
There are some lovely walks around the Park, with views over the area. Well worth a visit.
